PAST - PRESENT :
Dark Wave Nights first began as a collaborative club night project by Peter Black (aka DJ Mr.Black), Eric P. Weatherhead, & Kingsley Woodward. DWN was born at The Purple Haze club in Montreal, Quebec Canada, in July 1997. The night began as a bizarre alternative to other club nights, offering obscure favorites, old school hits, & B-sides. Ity was a goth club night that gained a huge cult following. Dark Wave Nights was on every Saturday night at that time.

Dark Wave Nights moved from The Purple Haze Club, to Club Ezra, then briefly to Club Redemption before finally and firmly planting itself at the second floor of Club Saphir (formerly Purple Haze) for the last 7 years, and switched from every Saturday night to every Friday night instead.

Peter Black still DJs under the guise of DJ Mr.Black, Eric P. Weatherhead now handles the DWN website, and Olivier DeMontigny-Papier (aka DJ Uriel), now a DWN partner since 1999, takes up occasional co-DJ duties, for the last 3 years.
